Two new cogeneration containers for the Ho Chi Minh City wastewater treatment plant

September brings very good news for the Guascor Energy team. In the coming days, we will deliver two cogeneration containers for the Ho Chi Minh City wastewater treatment plant, in Vietnam. These containers comply with the highest manufacturing quality requirements, ensuring operability and durability in very demanding working conditions, designed for up to 50 ºC ambient temperature and 100% relative humidity.

The supply consists of two G-56SL generator sets that will be powered by biogas generated in the wastewater treatment plant’s digesters and will generate electricity (1.9 MWe) to supply Ho Chi Minh City, which with almost 10 million inhabitants is the most populated in Vietnam.

The configuration of the G-56SL engines in this supply has been optimized to obtain the maximum amount of heat possible from the engine’s jacket water, which will be used in the wastewater treatment plant’s digestion process.

The S engine family is the ideal solution for power generation and cogeneration applications given its high reliability and low operating costs. It stands out for its great flexibility in using different types of fuel, as it can run on everything from natural gas to sewage treatment plant gas, landfill gas, propane, well gas, syngas, or hydrogen, guaranteeing an outstanding level of performance not only in terms of power but also in terms of efficiency.
