Guascor Energy at the inauguration of the Energy Intelligence Center (EIC) building at the new Abanto Campus of the Basque Technology Parks.

Last week, on the 20th March, our colleague Iñaki Iruretagoiena, Guascor Energy R&D Director, had the honour of attending the inauguration of the SEDE building in the new Abanto Campus of the Technology Parks and the ceremony of the handover of the EIC building to the companies committed to the H2 project in Abanto (Bizkaia).

The conference was held at the Bilbao Chamber of Commerce and dealt with the main projects that the Basque Country is going to host in relation to hydrogen, one of the major alternatives for promoting clean energy. One of the axes around which this ecosystem will revolve will start up in Abanto Zierbena at the beginning of next year. It will be a facility to generate and store hydrogen, the heart that will feed a network that expects to move a global investment of around 1,000 million euros between now and 2024, the first 200 million already in 2022.

The new technology park in the municipality of Meatzaldea will thus be a kind of ‘Basque hydrogen hub’, but it is also looking for a niche in sectors such as transport and industry.
